CONNIE M. BORROR MATHEMATICS PROFESSIONS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is made possible by the generous donations of the Class of 1984, friends, and family of Connie M. Borror. Connie was a professor in the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Arizona State University West. She developed and taught the first
online class in the Department – Elements of Statistics. She developed the BS in Statistics Degree and the capstone experience – a team-oriented project with an off-campus setting that allowed students to synthesize their statistical training to gain experience in teamwork, presentation skills, and time management. She was a prolific researcher in the field of Industrial Statistics and Quality Control, authoring 80 peer reviewed journal articles and co-authoring two books. Shortly before her untimely death, she was awarded the Shewhart Medal of the American Society of Quality Control – the first woman to ever receive this prestigious award.
